Supplements

Glutamine and Glucosamine

Casein Protein Powder

I personally love Casein Protein Powder, because it is slow digestive. I enjoy blending it with a tbsp. of peanut butter, almond milk, and a banana. I drink mine for breakfast, because it keeps me full almost up until lunch.

Some people don't like Casein, because it is thick, but that is one of the main reasons I love it. It reminds me of an actual milkshake!! YUM!

When I was training extremely heavy for Strongman, I used both these products everyday! I came very close to a chest tear, and I believe the combination is what brought the strength back in my tissue and muscles.

"Glutamine provides fuel for your gastrointestinal tract, particularly in the cells in the linings of your small intestines. According to biologist George Mateljan, author of "World's Healthiest Foods," glutamine also provides the main structures for these cells to help them resist against disease-causing microorganisms and minimize the absorption of allergenic molecules. Your white blood cells and muscles uses glutamine, along with glucose, as an immediate fuel source.

Glucosamine plays a role in building cartilage, which is a series of connective tissues located between joints. This cushions the bones as they move along each other. The University of Maryland Medical Center states that glucosamine can help prevent or reduce the progression rate of osteoarthritis. Glucosamine supplementation -- when combined with another compound call chondroitin -- helps patients with mild osteoarthritis to reduce pain. However, it does not help those with severe osteoarthritis." - https://www.livestrong.com/article/287131-glutamine-vs-glucosamine/

Multivitamin

It's always hard for me to find a multivitamin that doesn't make me sick to my stomach. When I started taking Vitamin Shoppe's One Daily Women's I was so happy, because I didn't get the usual sick feeling.

Probiotic

I must say Probiotics are probably my favorite supplement. Not only did it help regulate my digestive system, but it also helped my allergies. I take a 50 Billion, because I noticed the higher dosage helped my allergies quite a bit more.

Fish Oil

Fish Oil is a great supplement for heart health! Being I am a 2x heart surgery survivor, heart health is extremely important to me.

"Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oils may protect the heart during times of mental stress.

Findings published in the American Journal of Physiology suggested that people who took fish oil supplements for longer than 1 month had better cardiovascular function during mentally stressful tests.

Fishoil

In 2012, researchers noted that fish oil, through its anti-inflammatory properties, appears to help stabilize atherosclerotic lesions.

Meanwhile, a review of 20 studies involving almost 70,000 people, found "no compelling evidence" linking fish oil supplements to a lower risk of heart attackstroke, or early death.

People with stents in their heart who took two blood-thinning drugs as well as omega-3 fatty acids were found in one study to have a lower risk of heart attack compared with those not taking fish oils.

The AHA recommend eating fish, and especially oily fish, at least twice a week, to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease" - https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/40253.php

Fat Burner

CLA (conjugated linoleic acid)

CLA

"A number of studies have demonstrated that CLA reduces fat mass, while increasing lean body mass. Learn why research has proven this and which ones you should use.

CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a naturally occurring fatty acid, similar to an omega-6 fatty acid but with health benefits for skin and weight loss. It's one of the "good fats," present in foods such as beef and dairy products, but only in low levels. Ironically, beef and dairy products are the same foods that are also high in what we think of as "bad fats," or saturated fats, so obtaining enough CLA through diet alone is problematic.

Also ironically, even though CLA is a fat, studies show that 1.4-3.0 grams per day of CLA will lead to overall body-fat loss.1,2

And yet, to get that much CLA into your system naturally, you'd have to consume upwards of 2 pounds of beef, a pound of cheese, or 100 ounces of milk every day!

Increased consumption of CLA doesn't have to come from dairy products or beef, however, as the benefits of CLA can be achieved through supplementation." - Reform Mag
